 woohoo!
Thanks Mark

Nice ride last night - good to be shown some new tracks i'd never ridden. Cheers John.
And where were the rest of you fair weather fairies ?
;o)
I was crawling about under my car in the rain covered in oil :-( Might be time for a new engine :-(((( The garage fecked up fitting a new timing belt last year which may mean it's terminally buggered.
If only I was out on my bike...
Sounds miserable - makes the brief rain shower, followed by late evening sun that followed much more bearable.
I've been arseing aroung with the damn thing so much this week the only excercise I've managed to do is go (shhhhhhhh) running (and that was in the dark). Absolutely no fun AT ALL. I miss my bike and the hills!
john, thanks for the ride last night. andy
You're welcome - sorry about all the climbs (and being slow on them)! I hope the long descent down Shipley Glen was worth it though...
Anyone fancy doing a longer ride at a weekend some time - say up in t'dales somewhere?
I'd love to but I will be rolling around in the rain and grease again fitting a new cylinder head to my car :-( GGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
maybe sometime soon though?
JOHN, YES, SOUNDS GREAT. I'VE DONE A FEW ROUTES FROM GRASSINGTON AND MALHAM AND ONE FROM EMBSAY. ANDY
If anyone fancies it I can put together some *really* good routes in the Peak District for a weekend sometime soon (if my car ever lives again that is). Lots of hills and rocks though.
Peaks are grim: too many loose rocks and boulders. Uphills too steep to ride up, downhills too loose to ride down. Don't go....
Steve! No! The peaks is absoulutely ace if you choose the right routes.
I've been riding them for years... and on a fully rigid bike.
We did Jacob's Ladder. Rode about 10 yards of it then off to push uphill for about 30mins. Total carnage down the other side with my ring twitching like a rabbits nose. Pretty much the same for the rest of the weekend. Hardcore. On a rigid? You must be a better rider than me.............
Are Big Toad, Jeff Todd et al still doing the Apperley Bridge/Harewood rides? I live in Calverley and would like to tag along....
I admit, Jacob's ladder is a killer! I find it's better in the other direction though. Doing it the way you did, if you turn off R half way down the descent, theres a *really* nicely stepped, fast grassy BW. Lovely.
Grassington / Malham sounds good - as does the Peaks.
'North Leeds on Tour' T-shirts (with tour dates on the back) anyone?
Steve - we had one round Baildon / Eldwick earlier this week, there seems to be something going on most weeks; there's a Trailquest in Ilkley next wednesday...
Hmmmm.....Baildon/Eldwick would have been nice. I will keep an eye out for future rides and meet up with you all: I am keen to earn a T-shirt....... Re Trailquest: Orienteering on a bike, right? In teams/pairs?
Is anyone doing anything this week? I can't make the trailquest, so anything else would be welcome...
Me and a mate are doing the Harewood/Eccup Loop on Wednesday evening. Open to suggestions if anyone wants to show us any new routes...??? Apperley Bridge/Bradford??
