Hope? 10am? There, I made a decision (albeit in a questioning way, so as it appears I wont be upset if someone else comes up with a better idea - of course I will be upset really .
I'd be happy to travel a bit further afield tho, perhaps Fox House even? I just have to get back for 3 ish so I can get the bike back for 4pm in some state of cleanliness. I'm not really up to a massive ride so 3 hours will probably do me.
Dave, if the E120 wasnt what you were after, what are you after? Jon, didnt you say you quite liked that very white bike you tested? was that a E120 or similar. Maybe look at that one Dave. if it meets your criteria of course.
The Marin that Jon had is a very similar suspension design. I suspect the Whyte is designed as a bit of a race/trail bike rather than as a pure trail bike. I'm after a pure trail bike, with plenty of skill compensation and confidence inspiring travel and appropriate geometry.
I'd like to try the Marin Mount Vision to see if it is more trail oriented.
Or we could just go local. How about a ride over into edale for tea and back via rushup. Even start at chunel of you like. Seeing as it seems to b the glossop massive
just woken up. Feeling knackered after a very busy last week and not shaken this cold thing still. Might go out later, or might not. Friday's commute felt like I had somebody else's legs! Have a good ride anyway Dave, looks lovely (and cold) out there
Ooops, sorry guys. I'm Captain Disorganised and somehow managed to miss the whole timing / venue thing. Stoopid or what? Been out with the High Peak Cycles guys locally, awesome trail conditions, lovely weather etc... My legs are now officially falling off. A big thanks to the Peak District for making it all possible...
ohhhhhh, Jon!!! Well, Derek and I had a nice ride over to fairholmes via hope brinks, potatoe alley (which I had to get down on Derek's hard-everything bike after he rode off on the E120!!!), concrete switchbacks and down lockerbrook. Tea, pastie and duck!! at Fairholmes then back via old railway to Hope. Certainly cold out, and plenty of ice (especially potatoe alley).
It was interesting riding that E120 down Potato Alley. I really only meant to go to the first corner, but it seemed quite happy rolling over icy rocks and I guess I got "caught up in the moment". In fact, I was so impressed that I popped in to Eighteen bikes and placed an order for my Christmas present...
Oh and can anyone tell me the diameter of an Exposure Joystick? and following the answer, maybe, anyone got a helmet mount for one spare that a could swap for some beer tokens, maybe?
macs, why would you want a helmet mount for a joystick as you clearly dont have a joystick or else you would have measured its diameter? Or is there something I'm missing
you're right, dave, i dont have one but i have something similar that i want to helmet mount and i think a joystick mount will work. so you're not missing something.
