Good to bump into you all tonight, sorry I didn't hang around for too long, but was due home by eight. I had forgotten how nice it is to start a ride in daylight and then go through that dusky time when lights don't seem to work that well until it get really dark. Only a few weeks until the clocks go forward and all the rides will start in the light. Roland, good link. Although they have missed out that sun lotion is much easier to apply (not really relevant at the moment!) and the mud just falls off.

thanks andy for leading and great to see you all i forgot how sweet dusty trails are . now where's the semi slicks
|
 |
Thanks for the link Ro, but I can't risk shaving my legs because Jo said "That would be it" if I did, and I haven't found out what "That" or "it" are yet Great ride tonight, those trails on Frith are just mental, Neil how big was that slide

It was definitely a top ride tonight, we should have done ‘Driver’ instead of that awful blacktop to the golf club CP, but its a handy short cut to know. I agree Rich, slicks would give more speed which is always a good thing, but I know if I fit them it will pi## down

Cheers Andy- a most enjoyable ride tonight! Trails were soooooooooooo dry. 11th Tee was a blast- Neil, couldn't believe you got away with that corner! Jason- good to see you briefly! Does that trail after 11th Tee, the one with all the holes in it, have a name? If not, how about "Swiss Cheese"?
|
 |
So you did fit the slicks then Andy? Its bitching down this morning
|
 |
.jpg) Yep, top ride last night, thanks again Andy for leading us through such great trails and so well linked up. That Corner! Wow it felt good and reasonably in control, forgot it was there until I saw Andy fly left, would love to see a replay of it Thanks for spurring me on lads, it's just what i needed after 2 weeks off the bike. Your right about those semi slicks and your also right about the weather this morning Dave. Spoke to soon i think Cheers lads

Lem, I've been calling it 'The Ridge' as a stand by but I like your name better so Swiss Cheese it is. The trail after it, that we missed out last night as I could not face the hill climb is called 'A&E', on account of the horrible LH berm, jumps and holes on it.I just got my hands on the semi slicks this morning and it started to tip down....bugger!

Great pics Peter, i like that alot!
Cheers....
I'm still experimenting with the camera, but really enjoying taking the pics as well

Just a reminder of the Trolls/Ladies Who Lunch ride from my place on Good Friday afternoon. A nice social event including a stop at an excellent pub where they brew their own beer followed by food and refreshments at my new nest. I have been recce'ing the trails and they are looking good! Come along for the ride, or the food, or the refreshments afterwards. It would be great if you can make the whole event! More details on the other forum but you will need to let me know if you are coming, otherwise you may starve! Send me a PM with your e-mail address so I can send out directions.

Jay, I know you do the tunnel hill area on your weekly night rides. Is it anything like/anywhere near the Redlands article in MBR this month, and if it is can you string it out into an all day ride? It's just a 100 mile round trip is a bit excessive for a quick 15 miler, even if it's nearly all single track. Any input welcome.....

Nice one Si, you almost managed to keep that big cheesy grin off your your face when the hack asked a totally obvious question. You all deserve something for your last tour.

.jpg) Not getting anywhere near you on those trails Si Hats off to you all for the job your doing.

Well done Si again hats off to all of you.. Yep a totally obvious question to .. Goaty is it worth driving 100 miles to ride are area yes but you need to have a guide to show you around you can make 15mile loop or a 6hr ride. We about a 45 min drive to Relands so no were near. Well it sounds like every one had a good Thursday night ride (but I think the dusty trails have gone now ).. Scotland was a cool trip away not so good to watch Scotland beat England and Rugby and getting soak at the same time....!! The flight back was very intresting and the look on everyones face when we landed was priceless .. Jay

I was in Ireland over the weekend, and the Welsh people there were pretty smug. Our flight to Shannon was pretty busy with Welsh people, none of whom were actually going to Croke Park. Our flight was pretty entertaining coming back today too - it was one of those ones where there was lots of holding on to the seat in front going on when we landed, followed by a pretty big round of applause!

Crikey had one or 2 slightly shakey landings in my life but certainly wouldn't have wanted to be flying yesterday!!! Won't be riding tonight- bike maintenaince to do...
|
 |
So, is anyone out tonight? Is it Potters as usual? At some stage I'd really like to do a full lap of the 08 Tunnel Hill Gorrick course before it fades from the memory...
