Hello Chaps,

Just thought I'd drop you a quick note to let you know that I haven't joined the French Foreign Legion or decided to become a roadie (even worse!). Having some drivetrain issues, it's broke and so am I! Have a new chainset and BB but still saving up for a new chain and rear mech. Should be back on the bike in a couple of weeks.

Cheers, Scott

Jay,
Tweseldown was a mud bath on Saturday, but still good fun, we did Tunnel Hill/Fenceline last Thursday. Maybe this Wednesday we should ride a different trail. Perhaps if the ranges are quite we could do the Three Peaks Challenge, Fenceline to Ash and come back through the ranges to Tunnel Hill, that should be enough..;-)

Hi Guys,

Sounds like you are having a good time in deepest north hants!

I ride locally and know Mytchett/Ash ranges well and also occasionally head over to Church Crookham/twesaldown for occasional bit of tank dodging

The rides you are talking about Fenceline and tunnel hill sound interesting! but where abouts are they?

Cheers

Barney,
Tunnel Hill is here:
www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=51.2901&lon=-0.6998&scale=25000&icon=x

Fenceline (or seven sisters) starts from Colony Gate and follows the Pribright range perimeter fence (complete with razor wire) to the Basingstoke canal at Curzon bridge. A second section goes into Ash, but I guess you know it already. You can extend it with the 'Nine Bogs Ride' via Brookwood and Bisley.

Come along, why not? Always good to meet up with local riders. We ride Swinley, Tweseldown, Tunnel Hill, Ash, Yateley and more, the whole area is one big MTB play ground.., but you knew that already...;-)

Jay, it was a tough one, really wet with driving snow/sleet in a strong wind, not nice. Now you know the 'Three Peaks Challenge', it certainly was tonight. That trail into Ash is well slippery at night. Come the summer we'll spend more time at the Ash end. Phil is super fit and just comes out to do a bit of cross training, he's doing a 62 mile non stop run in a few weeks. After that he doing a 100 miler, he's not right...in the head.

See ya next week.

Barney, It would be good to meet up sometime, mail Jay and he'll sort out a meet point. 'Nine Bogs' is more of a tour rather than singletrack blasting, a summer ride only unless you're mad for mud, this weather has got to warm up and dry out soon.

I'm definitely up for it!

My mate Neil is up for the Wednesday rides in principle, but 7 is too early for him due to kiddy arrangements. 8pm would be ideal, 7:30 would be possible.

Would anyone else have problems if the time was changed to 8?

Jay,
I can't make this weeks nightie.

Mark, hope you had a good holiday. I've no problem making 19:30 if the group decide they want to, but no later as its always work the next day.

I should be okay for a weekend ride, Saturday or Sunday, no problem.

Just ordered the new wheels and cassette, will be fitting the rest of the drivetrain next week so should be back out soon.

Unfortunately have to go to the States with work for April so I'll be out of action again!

Andy, 19:30 is good- will that cause problems for anyone?

The holiday was great! No new snow, and sunny during the day, but cold enough that the stuff there didn't melt; the "vin chaud" ran rather well at lunchtime! Soooo depressing going back to work today!

Mark
