Well my bike is in bits now...

BB is well and truely knackered! Bits of the inner seal fell off as I was taking it out, and just turning the whole assembly in your hand (not spinning the axle) you can hear bearings rolling around and knocking into each other. No wonder the hills were hard work... ;-)

Order going in to CRC tomorrow. Between Wednesday lunchtime and after work I'm hoping to fit the new BB, cranks, chainrings, cassette and chain.

I've decided that BOTH my wheels are also knackered, but I'll wait for ooo I dunno, another week or so before sorting them out...

Well a new bike would be nice, but I want to run my others into the ground first!

And I'm looking a bit shakey for this evening now. My bits haven't turned up yet, which makes it a bit tight to make it out in time this evening :( That's assuming they turn up at all! If they don't then it's an evening in for me...

Bloody hell guys (+ girl) slow down a bit!! I'll finally have the bike back on the road this weekend but it looks like I'm gonna need a heart and lung transplant to keep up!!!

Thanks Jay & John, an excellent ride as always. Luckily we ended the ride when we did as my lights gave up once we were back on the road, I am sure one day they will switch off on that last downhill section.

I am also busy this weekend, but should be about next Wednesday, I have a meeting in Cornwall in the morning but should be back by the evening.

I will be about over the Easter weekend, the only day I am busy is the Sunday. I will probaly do a ride from Ash down to the Devils Punchbowl, (or maybe to Puttenham Commen with a bit if the North Downs Way) one of the days.

Jay- you're in the zone right now. I reckon you'll give Andy a run for his money the next time the pair of you are riding- God help the rest of us!

I'm busy this weekend too, but will be around next Wednesday- my bits might have turned up by then!

Hopefully they'll turn up today tho. If that happens, myself and Neil will be heading over to Yateley Heath this evening so anyone else is welcome to join us. Won't be a big ride as Neil's batteries haven't been exercised for a while and it'll be a bit of an experiment to see if they're still up to the job.

I just don't understand why any of you think I'm a fast rider...I'm a fat 38 year old who hates uphill sections...! Anyway I'm sort of over the Flu so should be out on Wednesday where you all get to see how unfit I really am. Gayle, try riding that section the other way, its much more fun, and you should come out with us on the Wednesday rides.

Shall we do an 'away ride' this Easter? How about Afan or Cwmcarn for a day ride. Or, if that's too far what about a ride to Leith Hill near Dorking. Tea and cake is available at all these places.

Not sure I can make an Easter away-ride, but I'll see! I've done Leith hill once before- an excellent day out. Had to walk up the last rooty bit to the top, where there was indeed tea and cake available.

My bike is now back in one piece, with various new bits on it. Yay! Lost a bit of skin and a lot of temper in the process, but touch wood it's all looking good...

Gayle, did Jason back off the spring tension for you on the spds?

Hello Andy good to see you back!! Gayle got eggbeaters and she on the 15 float.

I say Leith hill sounds good to me we well have to talk about it on wednesday night. As jason talking about riding to Devils Punchbowl on one of the days, I am busy on friday.

Plus Greg is thinking about sorting out a ride or join in with one of are rides too.

Andy you are fast give,s all the rest of us a target!! ;-) Mark you right I do seem to be in the zone!! Still it takes me a good 45mins till I find my pace..

Scott if you like I can see if Gayle can get some cheap heart and lungs from the NHS if you like!! Are you out wednesday too??

Hope you all have a good weekend!!

I'll be out Wednesday if Gayle could have the heart and lungs prep'd! Pimped the bike up to the max now but it wont make me any quicker!!

Chaps,
I mentioned an 'away ride'. To avoid getting stuck in the Easter traffic I think Leith Hill near Dorking would be the best option. I’m happy to lead the ride but I need to get a day set for this trip before this Wednesday’s nightie? Friday (25th) is out, as Jason can't make it. I can make any day, so its down to a vote from those who are interested to go, what do you say,? Vote now...please.

A rough plan would be to meet at 10:00 near Leith Hill, ride for 6 hours so with two stops for Tea and Cake and finish at around 16:00; with plenty of stops on route for me to rest up. It takes about 40 mins to get to Leith Hill from Farnborough.

How does saturday sound, thats my vote
Show/hide user stats
A trip to Leith Hill on the Saturday suits me as well - as long as we don't finish too late in the day as I have a big night out planned for the evening, which also rules out me riding on Sunday.

If any body needs a lift over to Leith Hill I have a spare space on the roof of my car.

Lets hope the weather is as good as last weekend!

jason mit have to take you up on that offer.

Just to let you all no meet at my place at 7pm on wednesday night.. see you all then

keeping fingers crossed for the weather this weekend.
