Slashing it down in Devon...which is scary as I rode to work today on my BMX in the sun as I need to be home by 4pm to jump in the Van and head off to the beach.

Only thing is I've got no brakes on thing which makes cycling in the wet lethal

Well yippe dee, I hope you get the rain we are having at the moment.

Do I detect a hint of jealousy there XCman?

back from a muddy windy ride in the hills. Surrounding areas of Edinburgh have been flooded. Met office reports that this last summer in Scotland was the 4th wettest since records began!

Come on Autumn, lets have sunshine and atmospheric misty mornings. Ready for a crisp cold bright winter! this grey sky and rain is just a little grim. And you have to clean your bike after every frickin ride

Still, muddy rides in the hills are good for the soul

We had a brief taste of Autumn at the weekend (first time I have seen muddy trails since the beginning of June) but Germany is now basking in an early Indian Summer. It's currently about 28 degs outside and not a cloud in sight.
Sunny off out when I've finished my cuppa

windy today, but also dry dusty trails and pefect late summer evening sunshine. Well worth putting up with a bit of windyness to squeeze every last beautiful drop out of summer.

What a scorcher down at Ae forest yesterday!!! It was proper, sun burn, glove marks, empty your camelbak hot!!! Thankyou summer! thats the way to say goodbye, see you next year!

Maybe in England, you have had a bad summer, but looking back up here in the frozen north lands, i think its been a pretty hot. Every single time i went biking in seven Stane country its been proper hot and sunny.

Now my thoughts turn to snow.... Will there be a Scottish snow season this year?

Was uncannily warm yesterday up here as well Fraser. Nasty winds though. Been warm for us I suppose this summer, but until a couple of weeks back, some pretty wet spells as well.

Basically getting West Coast on the East Coast, has been going that way over the last few years.

Snow season ? Wait till Feb for it to start I reckon.

I arrived back from a two week stint in Middle East, this weekend. Pentlands on Saturday where beautiful! perfect sunny Autumn day, dry trails and no wind. Lovely welcome home after the incessant, heat and dullness of the desert.

its pretty horrible today, but by God!!! its beats being in Saudi!!!!

The monsoon season has started. Just as we got to the turning point of the ride with 20km of trail to get home the deluge started. Splash slop slither squelch spray slime slide skate drip mulch skid. The sun has come out now. :-/
Got sun booked for tomorrow, climbing boots are packed for a day in the Lakes
