Beautiful hot sunshine all weekend in the Peak District for the Polaris.

Currently in Glasgow there is rain of biblical proportions!

Been working in South Wales this last 2 weeks. Weather in Tenby was roasting yesterday, i am sunburnt!

Its been p1ssing down all day today, made the drive to Cardiff airport rather tedious. I am hoping for a glorious Edinburgh evening when i land in a few hours time.

That is indeed an apt description of part of what i do, and what i was up to in South Wales

Tell me then what are those things on The National Grid lines [either side of the pylon] that look like egg timers on their side

Cant picture what you mean, are they attached to the pylon or on the ground?
Attached to the wires about a foot from and on either side of the insulators

You can just make em out on top right conductor

Its the Glasgow holidays this weekend, so i have tomorrow and monday off.

Therefore 30mph winds and torrential rain are forecast for tomorrow. Should make for a character building muddy ride!!

Its lovely warm and sunny at the moment tho.

oh and in non weather news, the streets of Edinburgh are strewn with rubbish and our basements are infested with rats thanks to those helpful striking/work to rule refuse collectors who consider public health less important than their bonuses
