All. Henry had the great idea of pooling parts to get Dave up and running with a temp bike until he is sorted. Trying to list what we have / havent got. Henry has a 18" Felt frame, shifters, poss front Wheel, brakes Jon has Alex rear wheel, Rebas but the steerer is only 170mm... the felt headtube is 130mm. I've got , some seatposts, seat, chain, front mech, rear mech (not v good though) Anyone else got other forks they can spare for a while ? or anything else ?

Well I have revelation dual air with 190mm steerer & qr front wheel, pedals cage or shimano spd, saddle, chainset with BB 100mm stem (std clamp not oversize, but have bars in it if daves are oversize) As for frame, felt would be better for climbing, but the enduro can fly downhill still, felt probably better overall, depends what he prefers, the felt aren't known for their downhill prowess though they aren't shameful, but enduro requires a bit of bar fighting to keep it on a straight line uphill due to the rear end steering under power but will bomb downhill, i kept up with dave down lockerbrook and jaggers on the enduro's last ride, and he wasn't hanging around.

cheers guys, this is an awsome gesture, my heads just not in the zone this week but im touched by your efforts ive got a bar and set of mallets left, ive also got grips, tyres n tubes, praps a headset but no crown

A headset can be got for a tenner, I had a ritchey logic for a tenner once, wasn't a bad headset either, not really sealed and didn't use cartridge bearings, but for a temp job doesn't matter.

Btw, was it just the bike the scumbags got?? You need to train the lizards to attack m8!
|
 |
wow, cool Andy. Think the forks would be good, My brothers just dropped off a shed load of stuff, including some Toras with long enough steerer. Maybe we can build it up tonight with this kit on, then if you want Dave, swap over to Andys better forks when you get chance ? I think all were missing is a headset, Dave, can you get one this after ?

Dan, when your back, if you read this. There have been 3/4 other thefts in the Ecclesall road area of bikes. Watch your back as you return from a ride, I think people are being followed home post ride.

 |
Please note though, the parts are for loan, i still want 'em, but while they ain't doin nowt someone could be using them, just like with the stuff Dan has/had

Ah dave thats shocking news, everyone's worst nightmare. If you want them, i've a pair of Pace RC40s you can have for nowt, they need servicing but it'll only cost about 50 quid and its a start to get yourself biked up again.
On a happier note, the Alps was frigging ace, 5 days wasn't nearly enough.
High points: Mt Cherry track and views from the top over Mt Blanc range Secret tracks off Plenny=super tech Mountain singletrack Super steep and fast stuff that other don't ride Chairlifts and no pedaling
Lows: Crashing at walking pace of a wooden bridge on my way to Les Gets and bruising my shoulder so bad i couldn't feel my hand for a day Chutes on a 80 degree slope with mud and roots and not other way to get down but to try and ride it=over the bars, bruised rib and 4 inch cut on my arm Bad sunburn on my nose and panda eyes 5 euros for a pint
Overall: Brilliant fun
