Hi guys, just wondering if these rides are still going on? Im a fairly novice and was just up at the whaley bridge station and knocked about Fernilee Reservoir. Would love to see more of the Peaks since im on holiday right now heh and im acting like a lazy bum between rides.

Hi Kevin, erm.. we do ride honestly we do. It's just that we've all been unbelievably disorganised of late hence not riding much. I quite fancy a spin this weekend if anyone else is about? If a ride happens I'll make sure we post up Kevin.. ta

Have a look at sjscycles.co.uk also Dan for rigid forks. Would be a benefit on the commuter, I prefer rigid forks on the road, suspension just doesn't feel right on tarmac. No riding for me this weekend, I really cannot afford the fuel even to the peaks!

cheers andy - need something cheap like!
btw andy- if you do want to ride on sunday and have just enough juice to get here then I can give you long-overdue diesel wonga mate?
Just a thought like . .

Cheers, but I'd feel a bit of a scab, and I will want the day off tbh, its hard work shopfitting, not always physically but mentally, often both! My auntie and her fella have just taken up mtb'ing, so may be posting up a sedate ride as I may well take her/them out for a slightly tamer version of the classic... they've done a dark peak route last week and off the back of that she's bought a rockhopper!... (previously had a second hand apollo)

************Right guys*********** The Glan Aber bunkhouse is totally booked up for the 6/7th Nov and the log cabins Si linked to are closed for all of November!! What do we want to do? I've spoken to the manager at hotel and she'll do us a discount so it'd be £39.50 per person per night (incl breakfast) based on 2* twin rooms (straws drawn for who has to share with Dyl ) I need to get back to her asap so let me know - so £80 each incl breakfast. ta

anyone got any good routes that have a lot of riding in rivers ?
er why si? You got a damp feet fetish?
just pandering to Daves latest off road tastes.
oh i see - has he been flinging himself off the bike again then, or just splashing about in streams?!
Don't think so Si, looks too big and I havent seen owt like that, though havent been down recently, similar vegetation though. There are at least three eckingtons in england too.
Its Defo your Eckington Andy, its from Gravity Slaves site so certainly local. Dave had a cool....er what I can only describe as "not a crash" into porter brook the other night.. classic mistake of the trail going left... and he went straight on, rode down 3' of the drop then dropped the last 3' into the river.. landed it aswell
*snigger* where abouts was that Si? It sounds impressive!
just on the last bit of bridleway in Endcliffe park, once you've gone down porter brook, then past the cafe and reservoir... was a CLASS landing.. V impressed.
i'll have to get him to demonstrate it again for me - sounds dead impressive!
Hmmm... I know the woods pretty well Si, looks too big and not steep enough, could be one bit in particular that me and Dave discovered, I'll have to get down there and have a mosy, but someone would have seen that lot and told em to bugger off, you're not supposed to ride down there technically, no-one bothers you normally as it doesn't matter, but a big gang like that would attract attention and get told to go away...
...Unless they've built on a bit where I was gonna build in the bottom...
