OoooOOOOooooOOOOOOooooh

Andy's had strangers rummaging about in his undergrowth....  he won't like that.

Do you want to borrow a shotgun and pitch-fork Andy (my brother has both I think) and we can head down there and do the "  Get orrf moi laaaaaand" thing??

Si... so what you reckon, any chance of escaping for P£aty b00z£ on Friiiday??

Fairy nuff mate -  it can only get better like you say. ..

few years time and you'll be out every night, riding every weekend and buying that sportscar just in time for the mid-life crisis

Are you off out riding with Dereck thursday night ? Andy, quick stop Dan...hes gone over to the Peak mid weak side....  weve lost him to  shaved legs, single speeding and lycra wearing

Yeah possibly Si -  going to give it a go!

However, the thought of riding out to Fox house even before the ride begins is mildly terrifying... I have no fitness at the moment

Derek's offered to lend me some HID's until my Deal Extreme jobbies arrive (whenever that may be!).

Once my lights are sorted I'll still be up for a spin with thee and Dave should ride around my way like..

ahh, cool, sorry not got spare lights at mo, one of mine failed so no spares.

Aye no worries Si..  I should be sorted fairly (hopefully) soon..

bloomin DX say my light is in stock yet the order status says " waiting for supplier"

there usually pretty good.

Andy, do you know much about setting up the Rev dual airs ?  Mine are divey at slow speed at moment, feel a bit firm but I think I just need to reduce +ve air for that, how do you sort low speed / brake dive on them ?

ta

Aren't they similar to Reba Dual Airs?

I've got Reba Dual Airs.

erm..

reduce both + and - worth a try?  Too much negative would encourage them to dive, wouldn't it?  I think..

You've met Derek then fwiw, I wear baggies, ride a Pace RC405 with a full complement of gears and wouldn't shave my legs if you paid me to... Derek's a bit of a one-off, not a role model.

As far as the Rebas go, I'd play with the positive and negative air pressures - more positive / less negative might help. Or, if you have motion control, try running the fork with the lock-out thing full on, but with the motion control knob about a turn in from fully soft. Means you won't be able to use it as a full lock-out, but if you're happy with the fork the rest of the time, it should hold it up a bit. Or try a bit of both...

If you're feeling rich, the TFT Push upgrade for RS forks is brilliant. Or it is on my Pikes anyway.

Dan - I've put your lights on charge ready for next week

Si, they take a little to break in, but that shouldn't make too much difference to setup. What pressures are you running and what do you weigh? Generally run 10psi more negative than positive, but play with the pressures to see what works. You will probably get a message from Dyl telling you that negative air makes the forks less active btw!! tried to tell him he's got it wrong way round but you know him!...

I run 112 positive 120 negative in the rebas and ran 110psi pos 120 neg on the revs, slight difference in the forks behaviour. If they dive too much up the positive air a little at a time, if you get the support you need but they feel harsh then increase the negative again, by small amounts. The reason I run 112-113 ish psi in the reba is that they are a little more supple and divey than the revs were but just that 2-3psi increase in the pos makes that difference.

lol Jaun, I know just a Dan wind up.  Actually I'm enjoying up and flat a lot more than down at moment.. mostly as I just need to MTFU going down hill !

pmsl Andy, I've got that exact message !

Thanks for tips Jaun / Andy, Are the Rebas in essence the same as these Revs ?

I've tuned them a bit last night and they felt pretty good with a little more in the neg, can't recall what I'm running them at Andy, I'll check tonight.
Juan, Does the floodgate work when the forks not locked out ? Ive got the dial at the top of the lockout swithch with +/- on it, but not sure if it does anything unless the fork is locked out ??

Dan / Derek, are you out Thursday night or wednesday ? were mostly out around Sheffield on Thursday nights.  sometimes a bit last min to arrange like last night had to switch start to near my house but usually flexible on start point.  Usualy 1,hunters bar  2, somewhere in the peak or 3, near my house in stannington.  That mixes up the rides nicely. Last night was fast / dry and fantastic around Rivevilin and Loxley valleys, found some great new singletrack (and hairy cows) near Damflask res.... and Dave stayed out of the rivers.

Nope, the floodgate, as I understand it anyway, only works when the motion control thing is switched on, but it gives a huge range of adjustment between fully locked out and not very much at all. Somewhere near the 'not very much at all' end of it, you're getting a simply platform fork, which will prop it up slightly, which might help with your dive issues.

Rebas, Revs and Pikes with dual are are all basically the same. Generally, more negative air will increase small bump sensitivity and pull the fork down into its travel slightly, more positive will decrease the small bump sensitivity. Equal pressures - fill the positive first - is a good starting point btw.

Ahh, I see. That actually makes it more usefull than a lock out at full travel then.

Thanks, will play some more with settings on it this weekend, need to do it on my own over same bit of singletrack near home, never very popular to do on a group ride

Yeah, its quite useful, I've set mine so it feels locked out over anything less than roughly 2" but if you hit something significant the fork springs seamlessly into action. Got me down jacobs towards edale the steep way a couple of times with the std spring before I upped the damping oil weight. Without it the forks dove horribly, lurching about and trying to chuck me over the bars, shoved the poploc on and descended in a very controlled manner with forks that were plenty active and not harsh. Only works at low speeds obviously!

So, whats happening with wales folks????

erm . . . Dunno

Do you still want to try for next weekend or do you want to postpone it until Dave's free for example?

I don't really mind . . . dyl, what are your thoughts??

(about the trip that is, I don't wish to know what's going through your mind generally tbh )
