 Dave - the neck / back has improved but not enough for me to risk riding. I am coming down to Steve's tho as Kate is riding and I can't miss the opportunity to catch up with everyone. I might then be going down to Oakham to watch Ryan race in this Cicle Classic on Sunday

Bloody hell my legs are sore today. I have started running and did 4mls yesterday. Wasnt tired but as my legs werent used to it i was quite stiff today. Met Carl and did the red/black at kirroughtree (Excellent ride) and was a bit tired. Got home and ben was witing for me to go for another run!! Another 2mls (I know its not much) and we get back. He then wants to play football. I am cream crackered. Still have to go out and clean the bike. Oh and within 500m of starting ifound my chain slipping. Have now bent my new XTR rear mech and had to do the entire ride in granny ring (Teaches you to keep off the brakes and use the trail). As i am setting off before 8am tomorrow i was stuck with buying a new middle ring from the brake pad shop. How much for a deore ring? Dont have one, on back order. Er how much for an SLX? Havent got one, on back order. I looked like i was going to cry and he took pitty on me. He stripped one off a new chainset and asked £24 for it. HOW MUCH?? In the end i got it for £20 fitted which i suppose isnt too bad. Its one of them composite/steel rings so should last as long as the deores but are light as XT. We will see

Good ride yesterday lads & lass. As always the terrain was great fun. I must have been carrying a bug or something as i had to emergency stop on the hard shoulder of the M6 to say hello to my curry again on the way home

 Wow how good was that??? As usual Steve excellent weekend, your mtb weekend hosting skills are second to none and your ride organising and delivery ain't too shabby neither really big thank you to you and Anne. Nice to see everyone, along with some new faces as well. I can't really pick out a hi-lite apart from the whole weekend, two solid days with some brilliant climbing and as usual the classic descents with some new ones thrown in. Hopefully we'll see alot of you at the beginning of June, I'm going to get some options out this week to see what the general consensous is.

Even though I wasn't riding I still had a great time. Can't say that very often can you! Muchos thanks to Steve and Ann for putting us up / putting up with us. Bring on June.

 Echo the above - was a really fantastic weekend. Many thanks to Steve and Ann for your hospitality. The routes both days worked particularly well - thank you Steve for keeping our legs in mind when planning the day 2 climbs!

Me & Dave have arranged to do a crossfell ride on Sunday. Start from Garrigill as early as possbile. Hopefully Daves bike wont freeze up this time

I`m night shift tonight & Sun, grandkids till Tues. Spotted the white Eccmobile @ Mabie on Thurs evening. Is there a plan for the Howgills 24th? Allypet is coming up here on 29th so I`m taking for "the tour" but I`m working on the Sat/30th
