No riding so far this week - work has just been non-stop (and that's before pandemic flu has really kicked off)

I am getting out today though. Meeting up with some old school friends who have just bought shiny new bikes and booked a holiday in the Lakes. My dilemma is whether to do some nice easy trails (round Loughrigg possibly) or whether to go big and take in Garburn. I really fancy Garburn but suspect I'll put my sensible head on and do something easier. Hopefully the weather will be ok....

Soimetimes with juicy's the caliper mount gets in the way.

Try removing the caliper from the frame.

You out on yer wheels yet Davey?

Not quite. Feeling better this week than last.

Got an appoinmtent with an orthapaedic specialist monday. So fingers crossed.

Oh well fingers crossed then. You should be okay for Grizedale, I have some ice routes in mind, plenty of climbs and plenty of descents

Shim and I did Kielder today very bloody windy and the trail has really eroded which is a shame!!!!

Looking forward to Grizedale Is anyone going to stay in the Lakes Friday night or are you coming across/up/down Saturday morning?

Just spent the weekend in S. Wales - Cwmcarn on Friday; Whites + Wall + Penhydd Saturday; shortened Skyline on Sunday. The sun shone!

Took 2 of my nephews down with us: nephew 1 was really a roadie until staying with me over last summer - he now has 3 mtbs and is a far better/faster rider than I'll ever be; nephew 2 races junior downhill and 4x and rode the trails on a dirt jump bike (heavy, very heavy, and small so painful on the knees) - he now wants a trail bike for general riding

I was planning on travelling over on the Friday afternoon Mike.

Are you still up for the Howgills on 24th?

The fun run was well.... fun I ran with Anna and Mum ran with Izzy.

Izzy has decided to do the Cumberland run as well so she said the Stanwix one was good training

Hi Dave, think I'll do the same for grizedale - maybe even have time for an evening ride.

Still planning on doing howgills too, but will me coming down from Scotland for that one, so the start point you suggested is better for me

I did Colne Valley MTB Challenge this weekend, 30 miles in 3hrs 22 mins, was a fair bit of road though, fastest whippets finished in approx 2 hrs 15 mins (kinnell !).

Ally - good ride at Colne Valley. Nice one.

Me and Kate my might join you on the 24th depending on how my body reacts to it's first go on a bike in over 9 weeks.

John

The route will be Ravonstonedale (Time flexible) upto Adamthwaite, traverse round to Sedbergh. Turn right opposite church and then right again at Lockbank Farm, after a little bit of a push the majority of the climb is rideable to The Calf. Once on top it's the longest singletrack descent in the UK, all 5 1/2 mile of it

Once we hit the tarmac at Wath we can either Pootle back to Ravinstonedale or there are a few options adding some extra BW's in, we'll just see how everyone is feeling on the day. Finish with a nice pint hopefully sat outside in the sun!!!!

Davey, will be a good practice foe you in readiness for Grizedale

Mike, it would be rude not too
