Just back from a sunny 25miler with allypet, absolutely magic day/ride

Don`t think ally likes Gorse much tho

Hi John, not my glasses, thanks.

Sounds like you've been taking Allypet round the dalbeattie coast path? ... what's the story - did he come off or were there multiple puncture incidents?

Show/hide user stats
just got back from jockland - thanks John for a cracking ride yesterday, you're right about the gorse, legs are cut to ribbons ! No offs or punctures mike im afraid, but we saw one guy ate Dalbeattie who'd had a bad one, bent bike and a bent head - on the skills loop. And you were right about that pub, food was ace.

Went over to Ae this morning which was good, some sections are obviously new and good fun, got round in about 1hour 45 so went up and did Omega Man again - John, that jump you told me about....very nearly had me second time down when i was a bit braver, brown trousers time but held it together.

Dave - i wouldnt have managed your lakes jaunt today, wouldnt have had the legs for it after yesterday.
Looking forward to next weekend in Grizedale now.

"Hope the little un's ok John. "... he woke up thinking he dreamt about being in the ambulance!!!! Does`nt believe mum`n dad he actually was!!!!!! Had been given a sedative to help him sleep and recover a bit. So far no ill effects other than bruising and external teeth marks on his bottom lip(from the inside out!!)

"been taking Allypet round the dalbeattie coast path? ... what's the story "..incident free actually. T`was over the coastal path with a coffee`n cake stop at Rockcliffe.

ally..glad you enjoyed your trip up. Got a scratch or 2/3/4 myself.

The guy with the bent wheel/bike/body looked really bad but was walking wounded. He apparently crashed off the rocks in the skills area at the start

later on we met a dad with 2 kids near the Slab, doing the red route, daughter not wearing a helmet

Excellent road trip and adventure

Back from where?
Show/hide user stats

Fort William.

Most excellent weekend for everyone.  Great riding, lots of dusty trails, no accidents and only one puncture in the hundreds of miles ridden

The heat kept the midges away as well, even though it meant heat exhaustion.

It really is an excellent event

Show/hide user stats
excuse my ignorance but what event?
Show/hide user stats

Ten Under the Ben, John.

Forgot it was coming up so soon - how did you get on Andrew/Andy/Sharon?

Show/hide user stats

Not sure how we got on Mike.  The results for the trios arent out yet.

On a lighter note I saw Max Branning from Eastenders in our bank today.

Show/hide user stats

9 out of 13 in our category (senior mixed)

Approx half way against all the trios (we beat plenty of all male trios)

Fastest team member - AndyEcc!!! Woo Hoo. But to be fair, Hobo pretty much exhausted himself with a monster first lap which was extended by several miles to spread out the field.

An excellent time had by all. Sharon has been pestering me non-stop to find our results and race photos - I think she may be hooked on racing. I'm really dissapointed we're going to miss Kirroughtree now.

Well done Andy.  To be fair i think you had the legs on me all weekend.

Have you seen the piccie i posted up of you on the TUTB thread.  Check it out mate

Show/hide user stats

Yeah I found that one on the photos site earlier - I might be buying that one!

There's also a good one of Sharon going through the watersplash. I'll post it up later if I can find it again. Thankfully it wasn't the lap where she screamed on seeing the photographer and jumped off the bike cos she thought she was about to run him down

No links to pics? Or are they private?

Is anyone apart from the hardy weekenders coming down to Grizedale on the weekend? Dave has a monster Walna Scar route planned for Saturday you wouldn't want to miss .

Weather looks spot on for camping too :/
