Hello all sounds and looks like I missed a belter last week.

Can I interest anyone in a Grizedale pootle tomorrow afternoon?

Aye up lads, can anyone recommend a good camp site near Ullswater?

I'm off canoeing there at the weekend, so as near to the water as possible would be great. I may be able to squeeze a road ike in the car!

 Cheers.

Can't make Grizedale tomorrow Shim, sorry mate, would love to but work gets in the way.

Karlos, best site for camping next to Ullswater would probably be Side Farm at the Patterdale end of the Lake. There are loads of camp sites up around the Pooley bridge end but there has been a spate of thefts off those sites.

Evening all.

How's everyone keeping?

I've been busy for the last few weeks, work, dishwashers, visitors and squeezed in between, a bit of riding.

Hiya Davey quiet around these parts these days.

Been busy myself working lots of overtime, still keeps me in bling!

Haven't had many rides lately but must admit the few I have done have been belters with perfect weather.

The VP free is finally built looking very nice. So for any one interested the Bullit will be for sale shortly when I get her going again as swapped a few bits over.

Any way hope all is well and send my regards to kate.

Kate is good thanks Shim, glad to hear you're working hard to keep the bikes liberally covered with Chris King goodies.

Kate is looking forward to Grizedale Mountain Bike Challenge - Last year resulted in 2 stitches in her knee so this year is about unfinished business for her.

I bet you can't wait to give the VP Free a bit of stick.

I know it's a way off yet but anyone fancy a Stanes weekend  17th / 18th October?

Have fun John - has it stopped raining at all yet??

I'm still planning to camp saturday at grizedale as you say Dave. Will probably just come up to the Lakes for Sat-Sun rather than tack onto a Scotland trip, so won't need to take you up on your kind lift offer thank-you! Will see if anyone down here fancies it too, though the usual suspects will be off biking in Peru then.

Weekend 17/18 Oct could be a good'un for some stanes rides -  I can put people up at mine over that weekend if that date's best for all/most/some?

rain

Rain stayed off till around 4 but it was just one of those passing showers. Trails were amazingly dry in most places.

Working that weekend msmit.

Met AndyEcc whilst out at Mabie, struggled to keep up today

Shim, Mike, any positives / negatives with Blur LT's?

Toying with a secondhand one.

Show/hide user stats
sorry dave im afraid i cant do that weekend, but the weekend after 24/25 October would be no problem.

It was bloody wet at Dalbeattie this afternoon I got soaked!!!

Get it bought Davy

Davey.

Positives flatters your riding, climbs like a mountain goat, descends like a demon, looks cool,

Only negative I would say which you get used to is the lowish BB height, which is only a problem on rocky climbs just have to compensate a bit for it.

My new front wheel still hasnt turned a single reveloution in anger yet   On the plus side i have spent exactly 0mins cleaning or maintaining my bike   Anything i should be wary of leaving a bike standing for so long?  Will the brakes or forks sieze if left for large amounts of time?

Hope you guys are enjoying the rain
