Did the night ride last night at newcastleton with Saintly and Barry. All in there were 15 of us which made it great fun. Some major abuse was being dished out (All good natured) and we went back and did the semi-downhill section again which was good fun.
Cleared a double because i didnt even see it coming ;-(

Hobo I am on for Saturday Morning if you want to post it up officially.
Next ride is Saturday morning at Mabie if anyone wants to tag along.
Meeting Phatmiester (Gareth) at the car park at 8.30am and taking Saintly along too.
Then next wednesday we are hoping to do mabie as another night ride. Probably meet at 8.00pm in the car park if anyone is interested.

Beat me to it there simon ;-)
Hows it going? No twinges or owt?
I think last night restored my faith in group rides a little. Couldnt have asked for a nicer group (You owe that guy a pint for the loan of his lights) and even though there was a fair spread of pace it was still fun.
Carl looked like he was on a bit of a mission to prove he hasnt lost any pace cos it was a bit frantic for a while but he always has been a bit competetive.
Just debating wether to buy a hope quick release. God i am tight fisted!!
i think maybe you should stop being so modest and point out that it is likely to be fast group irde :)
Doesnt have to be 'fast' Baron (Feel a bit bad about my rant during what was obviously menstruating time for me). An apology will be made to the face rather than here.
Last night wasnt fast. It just seemed to flow and the slower riders tended to shout up if they were either knackered or told us when they were ok to go. I find it a hassle second guessing whether someone is feeling ok. We are all big enough to say slow down or come on lets get going.
Newcastleton, however is a different kettle of fish than Ae.
I learnt a lesson myself (I was relly ranting at me) to be more carefull of what to expect on these rides.
Oh and thanks for the nature of your post Baron, i would understand a few expletives in there if you had wanted ;-)
Hey saintly, just had carl on the phone. He bought a head torch today from the rush. You know the one the same as mine (Thats works).
Spoke to tony and it turns out the bulb had blown in yer one and he has been onto the suppliers about it.
Carl & steve are up for the king of the holm ride so looks like we better get some faster riding in soon :-)
Much as I would love to join you on King of the Holm I am going to be in Florida.
Which then gives me the excuse not to entertain any stupidly fast rides before I go away.lol. I think the best bet is wherever we go riding that you try and do two laps in the time it takes me to do one!!
Nice to see we have hooked Carl in to the night riding at least he can push the both of us.
No twinges today but have taken it slightly easy at work to compensate.
Dont worry simon. I will try to do some rides by myself to put some speed in. Maybe just make ours a bit longer so we both benefit as well.
Dont worry about carl, he was finding it hard keeping that pace going after 10mins. Its steve i have to worry about cos he's a bloody freak.
Very impressed with yer bike last night mate. No rattles so you must have picked up some skills from all the fettling recently (I dont know how!). And yer comment about my front tyre has had me pricing up a set of new winter tyres.
Newcastleton was fun,a bit ragged at times (me) would have looked cool watching the quarry section, we got some speed up. The max speed indicator on my puter says 31mph!!
Yeah, i was following you on the second run and your back wheel was all over the place. 31mph in the dark down twisty singletrack is pretty impressive.
£20 for that headset ;-)
mmmm a pewter headset and a Hope QR people will start talking Hobo.
£20 sounds a bit dear though.lol
Barry you can't have been as ragged as me when my lights went out. Nearly came straight off the side of that raised decking.
Extreme night riding!!!! Without lights. You are indeed more mad than us Saintly ;-)
Shhh he must be considering the offer for the headset. The qr is an end of the month purchase i will have to hide from the wife.
I hope Barry didnt take any of the abuse i gave him to heart whilst coming down the singletrack, was meant in jest mate.
An inch is as good as a mile :) When the lamp blew I heard you shout, If you had gone off I expect it would have been **** CRASH #######!!!!ER. Hobo's spending money,OMG ;)
Havent spent a penny yet barry.
New tyres, suspension fettling and qr means i have to budget.
The old scott is gonna get some hammer for the next few weeks so i wont be troubling you down any hills ;-(
Didnt hear a thing when his light went out. It just went very dark and quiet. No way was i walking back up to find ya in the dark!!!!
Mind you, that jacket he wears should give him enough light already ;-)
I will bring a spare light next time.
Oh, thats another thing to buy, a back up light.
Carl has one now so i have the head torch but i will have to lend that to gareth on wednesday as he doesnt have lights.
You were in shorts and t-shirt were you not. Mad! A lot colder today so my tracksters are now the preffered clothing for nights.
Were you taking the piss last night about that satallite. Are ya sure it wasnt a shooting star :-)
I now have my little road light up and running as a back-up not wanting to be in that situation again. Especially if your not gonna come looking for me Hobo you bugger.
Don't know if I would have had a chance to swear Barry its quite a drop off that decking. I think it would have been more like a dull thud!
31mph is good going. nuff respect. lol
No piss take, That was a Satellite info here http://science.nasa.gov/RealTime/JPass/PassGenerator/help.html There are more than you would think.
