Newcastleton is a good little route nothing too technical but a great one to do in the dark.
If not we should have enough lights between us to sort something out.

 Majik Newcastleton is a good hour, probably more like 1 1/2 until you get used to the roads and don't get lost.

Mabie will be my first ride out with the new lumi's I can't wait.
I bought the nimh halogens thought they would be enough for what I need.

Yeah it was a good blast first time I've been up there and I'm hooked. Looking forward to Mabie as I didn't do it with Hobo and Shim after me stack at Dalbeattie.
I've been looking at some nimh batterys on Ebay from the states - they're dirt cheap but if anything goes wrong I'll be stuck so really don't know what to do!!
Take it your stomach is ok following your op?

I had the same sort of thoughts about buying from the States. You won't have seen Hobo's set up yet then. Its worth a look www.therush.uk.com. He went for the pro elite bar mounts and the elite head mount which covers every angle.
I just looked around and plumped for the lumi's as a good investment in a bar mount and can then invest in a head light at a later date.

Theres a rule we have and its simple, everyone do as you pelase and enjoy it, no one makes anyone go any slower then they want or any faster then they want it all about having fun.
He seems like a nice guy, I don't want him to miss out! We'll have fun :)

Your dead right though you can't lose site of the fun thats what we all do it for.
As in every other walk of life we all get our kicks in different ways and different speeds.

The shoulder is still sore, probably should have had it looked at but didn't bother. After grizedale on Monday it was really stiff.
I'm at Hamsterley with Shim on Sunday so will see how it is then.
Think I'll have a look at yours and Hobos lights on Wednesday and make my decision.

You are quite welcome to have a go with mine at some point during the ride. I found it really useful to test a few different set-ups before settling on the lumi's.
Dodgy shoulders not good news. Where did you come off? Are you the chap that rode everything no bother then fell off on a little jump.

I think it was the speed that must have done the damage cos it certainly wasn't the height, but I'm really pleased I had my lid on other wise it would have been a lot worse :o))

been there three times now...
gotta say the new skills loop is tremendous!! I last rode it about 3 weeks ago...wasn't finished, but it was defs a good loop! Think they gotta do north shore stuff - let me know if you wanna go..I'm off all next week. Think I'm in Manc on weds, but am free other than that!

Virtually every week. I ride out of the forest on the black linked up with non waymarked fire roads and short single track sections onto the moors and then loop back round and finish the rest of the black off.
Hamsterley isn't far about 20 - 30 mins

Right will have to sort something out. Next weeks pretty busy but Thursday may be an option will let you know.
If not it will have to wait till I get back from hols.
