Hey, looking at buying a new front mech but the X-Gen says it has different sizes. I was wondering if it is a variable clamp or comes in different sizes.
well my existing sram 9.0 derailleur has died. The pin holding the parallelogram together has stopped staying in the hole. Thus when I try to shift to the largest chainring the force on the mech pulls it off centre and it hits my crank. My bike is in Lancaster and I'm in Blackpool so I can't even measure it.
unfortunately giant have removed the bike from their online archive. I'll find out what size it is when I get back tonight. Whats the normal size? I was going to buy one from On-One 34.9mm then I thought I'd better check first.
I tried. I failed though. I bought a second hand drivetrain and it came with a shimano bb. Then when my brakes died I borrowed my mates spares. I now have an XT front brake.
I'm confused. Everywhere seems to only sell the mech in one size, two colours but only one size. Are you sure it comes in different sizes rather than a variable one? I know a shim is needed for 28.6mm.
