*finds something hard to bang head against*
Dyl, ever thought if cutting off your nose?
Perversely, I really like the top-swing mech with the X on it.
Well, I can take or leave XTR, but I do like the new super-dooper chainless drive! (2nd picture down)
 A dylan classic.
In a resteraunt the witer brings out two trays. Under tray 1 he has Smoked Salmon. Under tray 2 he has a lump of dog shit.
Which would dylan choose ;-)
Well, Dylan wouldn't be in the restaurant, he would be out the back waiting for them to throw out the left overs, as properly prepared and served food is far to elitist for Dylan.
 Inverse elitism?
 No but thanks anyhoo
Prefer that, too being Gay like you bunch of snob!!
 Bunch of snob...
Is that the correct collective term?
Bloat of snobs is more likely.
Prefer that, too being Gay like you bunch of snob!!
Homophobic?
No, just not stupid enough to beleive marketing hype.
As PE said: don't believe the hype!
Right, I'm off to Lidl in my Micra.
;-)
pmsl @ Lidl, a weeks groceries for £11, get in!
o, just not stupid enough to beleive marketing hype.
But stupid enough to spell 'believe' wrong? :o)

"Secondly, the left arm fixes to the axle slightly differently from before. The pinch bolts are gone, and instead the crank is tightened via a collar between the left crank arm and the bottom bracket shell (tightened with a special tool)."
Fucking Shimano and their fucking special tools. It's just lazy design and an excuse to milk consumers. If you can't design a decent component to use conventional tools then you should fucking resign IMO.
I'm massively underwhelmed by the new XTR stuff. The rear mech and shifters look very SRAMesque whilst not quite being enough for a legal battle. That chainset looks like shit and the only reason they've emblazoned it with a huge XTR logo is to prove it's XTR when it actually looks like Halfords own brand bollocks.
Not that I'd ever consider buying XTR anyway, but I hate laziness complacency and bad customer service. This smacks of all three.
I still like that front mech.
I also have no problems with special tools if they're provided with the component (like HT2). On the flipside, how many different types of BB tool are there already out there?
truvativ bb tool standard bb tool royce bb tool
sq taper crank puller isis crank puller
ht2 bb tool ht2 lockring tool
"new" tool
SQ T and ISIS Crank pulling is bloody aweful, took me an hour to get the cranks off last time and a 4foot pole, on both :(
I'd go HT2 IF the bearings lived more than 3rides.
Both my bikes need new BB's so here we go again :(
dyl, i've never had any problems crank pulling, but then again, i break & replace them so often it's habit now
