Hmmm, I dunno Mike, for general XC riding I think, not suggesting that it'd be enough for full on DH duties.
My Fuel's only got 160s as standard, I'd consider a 180 on the front for the Alps or sommat. But i've never felt underbraked anywhere in the UK I've been.

 *Can of worms opened*

I felt seriously underbraked on a near vertical descent in the Lakes, hence upping to a 180 and I only weigh 12.5st.
oops! Its actually only a 185 i have on the front! (160 on the back. please forgive any confusion caused by this numerical slip up :-)
200 would be madness!
but 160 is too small for a front brake IMHO. If i need to stop then i want to be able to stop. no sense piddling about.

160 with an aluminium brake rotor should be fun when it sees some proper hills then :-)
well i can run 160's on the front with my xtr calipers and some hope braded hoses and have plenty of power only get a bit of pump up on really hot days , so there!
 you doing some sxcs nick?
fancy swapping bikes for a race? ; )
i might not finish in the bottom 3rd then...
I'm doing the Southern XC races, but I think you're oop North so your SXCs are Scottish XCs aren't they!?
I was looking at the results from Thetford at the weekend, I was lapping over a minute quicker than Anthony Salmon (3rd in XC champs race at the BUSAs), now why couldn't I go that fast in Scotland :-(
 ah!!! got it ; )
thought it was a bit strange with you being in bristol and all that!
not a bad speed there. i was annoyed with my BUSA result too...
shit happens. there's always next year!
Yeah definitely, I'll be back, and hoping to finish!

You forget that there are lots of heavy gits here. When will they realise there are lighter people around?
160/140 for me and I'm not as light as Nick :)

True Mike, I guess that does become an issue.
I nearly went for 140, but I didn't fancy the 140mm alu rotor, thought I'd stick with 160s!
 "200 would be madness!"
and how about a 205mm 6ti? they were some good times
iv just taken my 180mm rotor off mine and put new 160mm back on,and i cant really tel any difference at all...i think it will be even better braking than the old when the new rotors and new pads bed in...
you begin to notice if you brake like a moron..
i always brake late, just a habit and with 160, sure, you can lock a wheel, but it's just less predictable than 200
the current 180 setup is alright, but as they're nice and grabby, i'm happy
c'mon, let's get this argument going, where's the welsh idiot!
Nah you need the Turvey for a good brake argument.
You need Dylan for any good argument :-)
 and a helping of Kato!
 or me!
