Just flogged my winter hack, am thinking of selling / chopping in my Norco Six 2 and go for either a spesh pitch pro/ commencal 5.5 or 666 or an Orange 5 pro or am...
I was planning on a frame only job. Maybe even getting a mate to get one the next time he's in the US. I'm looking at Hope Hoops and maybe a 09 36 Talas R and XT kit. Probably won't be the lightest bike around but it will last.
And I don't race so lightish and long lived is what I'm going for.
After playing with a pair of titus's this morning i'd like to change my opinion of them (well partly), i think the racer x and the motolite are nice, couldn't get excited by the exogrind version though.
And imho those new crank bros wheels look crap in real life
Tekk - which site? On the main Yeti site I can only see prices in USD not GBP... the Evolution imports site is bloody shocking. They seriously sell stuff from that?
Buying in the US you'd save up to 50% off the UK price and it states on the website that you'd get 5 years warranty on the 575 frame and would only need to present proof of purchase to make a claim. No mention of having to be purchased within the country so it does seem to be a truly international warranty.
PM me if you want details of a shop that would sort you out.
very nice moots that, but i'd change the front tyre to something useful, the SB8's are good on the rear though, also, i don't see the point in the cage on the candy's, they'd be egg beater 4ti's.
i can't tell from here, but the spokes should be sapim cx-ray's, i would also put some lizard skin ergo2 bar ends on it, with matching grips...
Ditch those water bottles and fit a bell ... I hear the Noddy ones are fastest but the Dennis the Menace ones are better for jumps and DH... Naturally the Barbie ones are best for all day riding ...
Those tyres are perfect for where that bke gets used though Mike. Don't need an awful lot of mud shedding ability around San Jose. As for the pedals it's because the rider likes the soft soled SPD shoes (can't get on with the stiff ones) and those grips are amazingly comfortable. Spokes on those wheels will be DT Revolutions (Ford The Wheelbuilders favourite) and I agree about the bottles & cages.
As for the bell - We all know it has to be a Bob the Builder if you're going Back country! Silly
