Not really. Pedants would put it with the can at the front and the shaft at the back to reduce unsprung weight, and also to put the rebound adjuster at the front where you can reach it (not that you adjust it much/at all).
I've got a 200x50 Vanilla RC (of the old school) kicking about. No spring, though, and I don't know if the piggyback reservoir will fit in
so have I (with a spring) but it's got an nasty clunk when it decompresses, its in need of some TFTTLC . I also have a 5th element coil of the same size, weighs a ton but quite frankly is in every other way a far superior shock.
...and it's totally freakin' amazing. I've just got back from Dalby I was just gonna do half the red route as I've been drunk for the last three nights
Anyhow I was having so much fun I did the full route, the shock is so, so plush, from small bump sensitivity through to big hits and landings. It really is impressive and suits the bike perfectly. I anticipated much fiddling but the only adjustment I made was a quarter turn of the preload ring thingy.
You must have read my mind Klunk, I was just about to respond to John's post that yes it is very good when things work well, I was also going to say that today's ride has reaffirmed my belief that Nobby Nics are indeed absolutely sh1te for high speed cornering!
It's just that I've spent so much on kit lately they will have to be run until they are worn out, then they will be replaced with a GEAX Locolobo or similar.
I've also gained extra travel, not sure how much, half an inch or so at a guess. Standard shock for a Prophet is 50mm stroke (2") but the new shock has a 2.35" stroke.

and wet timber bridges
Glad you're pleased with it - I had the same when I got my PUSHed shock back from TFT - perfect straight out of the box. Amazing what a bit of tinkering can do to transform an already decent product in't it.
Does this mean the Handjob will be neglected for a while?
