It was nice to meet Pat and Kerry last night. Thanks for bringing fireworks Chris - 50% successful launch rate isn't too bad Did you get home alright Jon? We missed you

 Yes thanks

Thanks for the ride on Thursday night, it was great fun and nice to meet you all. Hope you made it back in time for the bonfire party Derek? We did feel the pace a bit, but we will get our fitness up and not hold you so much. Pat needs to sort out some better specs to improve his night vision and we need backup batteries before we ride again. We are riding in Scotland at the end of the week so won't be coming on this weeks ride. See you all soon

Yes, it was good to meet you, thanks for coming along. Hopefully see you again soon. As for night vision, I normally wear glasses but use disposable contact lenses for riding - it makes a big difference especially when it rains. I can't do Thursday this week - it's school disco night and I have various taxi and childminding duties to perform. Back to normal next week though.

 I'm good for Thursday.
So is this where you guys are then?
Always Hope on a Thursday?
I might be able to make it over from time to time, although would struggle for the next week or so.

Location's open to negotiation, I think, Hayfield ride on Wednesday nights is good btw, and you're welcome to stop over if you want to make an evening of it.

Sorry about my unscheduled departure. I'm not really very well calibrated for relaxed group rides at the moment Is that the diplomatic way of saying something else? Whats wrong with using the PMW thread these days lads?

The PMW thing has ground to a halt in terms of organising night rides. Derek thought it would be worth trying to drum up some interest in midweek night rides in the Peak by starting a new thread, and trying to get some new faces involved. The trouble is you need a bit of a critical mass to get these things going, and me, Derek and Jon don't quite make that, especially as I can't make every Thursday. We had a really good ride last week with Derek, Kerry, Pat and Jon (for part of it...), if it could carry on like that it would be great. A few more people would be good though... where are all those people that buy fancy lights and chat about it on forums? Are we that scary?

Nope, I'm just riding for endorphins a lot right now and relaxed group rides don't really work for that. I'd happily use PMW btw, still do.

Hi guys, i just picked up this thread from STW. Is anyone riding tonight and if so do you mind if i tag along, i'm keen to get out more this winter. Jon
Hi mjb, I'm riding tonight. 19:00hrs from the car park opposite the garage in Hope. So far it's you and me, and possibly Juan.
Whats wrong with using the PMW thread these days lads? I thought maybe the PMW thread was too long and rambling to attract new people. Hence the more direct appoach of this thread "Hope on Thursday Evening".
 Right, see you later guys

See you there, looks like it's going to be a wet one.
Wet and a bit windy too.
Cheers for a cracking ride, guys. Really enjoyed that. Two days rest and my legs feel like part of me again, gotta sort those lights out though
Yep, that was a good 'un last night. Shame about the downpour on the way home. I was just starting to dry out.
Cheers for the ride guys, it was really good to get out and not use the rain as an excuse. Should be able to make this week as well.
Cool. Gav might be down for the evening as well, so watch this space. At the moment he's fluttering his eyelashes at local Rivi riders on STW
