...but which one?

I fancied the 12/24 but it's too far to travel for what will be just a long weekend, any other recommendations please?

Strathpuffer, anything else is for boys.

But then I'll need a pit bitch/driver/support and again it's fekking miles to go for a long weekend, and it's freezing, I'd prefer spring through to autumn.

You'd be daft to do any solo without support IMO, especially your first one.

Yeah, I have a few people that may give up their weekends to feed me, and change my pants.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK forgot to enter on the 24/12 before nov 1st.

I'd say do the Bontrager, it is an amazing event, I'd say the nay sayers and the doom merchants are being daft. I'll be getting my entry in well right now actually.

and if you don't mind the hospitality of a complete stranger, I'll be down in the van with a big fat awning for all your gear if you want a base, though I won't extend that to sleeping in the double bed in the back of the van....no matter how much I love you eggy poos

What's the riding like at Strathpuffer Mike?

I'd pick an "easy" one if I were you DK

I thought so

Seriously Karlos, they aren't easy as a team - solo must be pure hell.

Timmy, it will be an experience, I like to push myself, I like pain and suffering, ergo I should enjoy the experience greatly in my own masochistic way. It is not my main aim for next year (that's triathlon), just something that I've wanted to do for a while. Why would I want to do something easy, you clearly don't know me too well....

Get your lazy Northern butt down to the 24/12 - consensus alway seems to be it's the most 'chilled' of 'em all.

If you like pain & suffering you're heading in the right direction! Good luck dude

Also DK the Bontrager camping stays open for a couple of days before and after, so make a long weekend out of it, maybe to get in some walking on Dartmoor or a couple of days of Surfing in Cornwall/Devon

Do you have to do more than one lap, as a soloist?

I think anything less than 6 is a DNF

There were a few '1 lappers' in the results last year.

Yeah looking at those laps, I've got to be aiming for 1hr laps and no 7hour stop? to bridge the gap to my top 20 goal.

The only excuse for the one lap is the guy who stacked it on the fast descent
