I have a Smart 10w lamp with a 6v nicad battery giving 2 hr burn time.

I don't understand electricity, so does anyone know what would happen if I put a 20w bulb in it?

OK I can work out that it would be brighter and it would drain the battery twice as fast, but would it cause any disasters?

i.e., would it damage the battery, would it be inefficient cos that's not what the battery was designed for? etc

Is there even anyone out there who understands the difference between a 6v battery and a 12v? Surely not.

Don't hold me to this but... if u can get a 20w bulb which will run off a 6v battery as far as i know it'll just drain the battery faster ie. burn time of approx. 1 hour. I'm not sure what type of lamp the smarts are but if its the usual halogen type and you can get a 20w output 6v lamp u should have no probs. 12v lamps off of a 6v battery are not a good idea though
