I have just received my new MBR and there is a very interresting aftermarket XC frame called Kinesis Maxlight. It weights 3.8pounds, which is the same as an M4. As anybody got one, or seen it?
Ive got a maxlight, also found it in MBR. Ive had it nearly a year now, and cant really fault it. Although, i hav made a dent in the downtube (my fault of course) and I got a bit exited with the powerwash and ripped half the decals off.
Ive got full XT groupset, with mavic X517's, and a Bomber MXC with the lockout.
Overall, this is a brilliant frame, as the bike weighs little more that 25lbs. Now that cant be bad for a 16yr old earning next to nothing, can it.

Oh yes, ive got it in black....very swish, especially with the XT silver alongside it.
Friend has been riding one for almost a year, XT Hope mini's Easton bits & Judy SL's. Very light and stiff it's got fast handling and accelerates well. Mind you it's got a steep headtube angle to accomodate up to a 100mm fork. He has come off a couple of times when the Judy's set to 100mm caught something on a corner & compressed quickley sending him over the bars. We set the forks to 80mm and he's happier. A good frame but not for the novice.
Just not long got back from coed y Brenin break in my new maxlight. absalutely superb frame handles fast accelerates fast just does everything fast got one of the latest runs of the frame and theyve gone to town on the finish stickers under a tough laquer and a nice glos black finish. gone for full xt disc group set smattering of raceface and syncros and sum pace rc36-2 forks tips the scales at little over 22lb and is very solid. if u like em fast :p
I have a maxlight and it is a great frame. It is really light and is a great ride. Mine looks mint with Pace RC36 stealth forks, Easton bars, stem and seatpost and XT bits.
