whats the brightest MR11 size bulb available? i want at least a 12V 30W spot, more is better.

maplin do a 50w mr 11 bulb, should be bright enough!!!!

50W is a bit big, i'd only get 1.2 hours out of it.

Go for the 35w spot then, it gives a a nice central beam of light and the outer light pattern is something like a 10 w flood

well, if this set works i'm thinking about doing another one but with a 35W flood and using the spot as a helmet mounted one, so i'll have 70W of power and 1.7 hours runtime.

What light set are you using? is it a lumicycle or a diy job?

its gonna be a semi DIY/sigma sport job, i'm going to use the original sigma lamp holder and cables but i'm going to change the 6V 3.2ah SLA battery to a 12V 5AH SLA or ni-cad battery (whichever i can get from www.strikalite.co.uk for not much money) and the 6V 20W lamp for a 12V 30W lamp so basically i'm going to end up with an overpowered, overweight uber lightset, i could just save for a while and buy some lumi's but i fancy giving this a go and if it goes bad i'll have only lost 30-40 quid.

oh yeah, and the plastic sigma lamp holder will probably melt.
