All the really light stuff from Conti is really sketchy in the wet, try the explorers, or the more aggressive Tioga factory 1.8 SL and Panaracer Trailblaster 1.8
Continental Explorer. I've got the steel bead version which weigh about 570g which is excellent for a big 2.1 inch tyre. Kevlar bead version would be even lighter. To get much lighter than that you'd have to go for something like a Panaracer XC Fire Pro 1.8 which I can also recommend.
I've been running a combination of Conti Traction Pro and Navigator Pro for the last 2 year (same pair)and they're just starting to go, Black is starting to show through the "smashing Jaffa orangy" bit. I can't rate these highly enough, before these babies I've used IRC Notos (hideous tire, grips well but punctures if you look at it funny), WTB Velociraptos and Panaracer Smoke/Dart.
