It's that time of year again, I've got to face months of the dreaded cold feet syndrome. I'm thinking of splashing out on a pair of Sidi Inverno winter boots as these seem to offer the best weather protection of any shoe available.
Has anybody got these who can tell me whether they will keep my feet warm ?. None of my LBS stock Sidi shoes, the only place I've seen them is 'Parrot' which would mean mail order, not sure on exact size.
Who imports Sidi ?, e-mail address would be good so I can find a local stockist.
Don't know much about the inverno's but I've had a pair of Sidi winter boots for over 10 years now. They've been excellent. Don't get me wrong they have put loads of miles in but they just don't rot, tear or break. They're toasty warm and waterproof too, unless wading. I've done Jacobs ladder in the snow and High street too, no problems. The only downside is the 80's dayglo colour. I'm not proud!
a good intermediate is the sidi dominator II, they have no mesh in the toebox area, go a size up and some good warm sox and light weight overshoes if wet, just like the rest of the body adjust for the conditions.
The Importers for Sidi's are Blue Ridge on 0208 991 9244. They are pretty thick, well they were when I warranteed some shoes(very rare to do) After three weeks of nothing, phoned them up to chase them up,to find "yes we got the shoes, but haven't looked at them yet!!!!" Do think that Sidi's are a top,top dog shoe tho'
