i've got a 34" inside leg measurement and found my last pads didn't cover both ends successfully.
i'm thinking of getting knee pads (ie. 661 dj) and separate ankle/shin pads that can be worn under lightweights.
has anyone else had this problem? i know most ankle/shin pads are dcent but know next to nothing about the 661 dj knee pads or whether there are any alternatives on the market. (one review on the dj pads on www.northshremountainbiking.com)
I just got a pair of Dainese freestyle pads and they cover pretty well (and I've got a 36" inside leg). Not quite down to the ankles, so I'll probably end up getting some extra ankle protection (like the Axo insole/sock-thingy) if that becomes a problem, but shin/knee coverage is excellent - and they have good side/back coverage (there's always a thread on nsmb.com in the gear section about leg armour).
my dainese have held up for a couple of yrs now..they slip a bit, n the mesh is ripped...but they taken some beatings, n i got some long legs..they are pretty good.. id buy another pair over anything
the colour in the ad is like smoke stained natural wool jumpers worn by universit type from fifty years ago (the type with a beard and pipe in their hand!)
and i ave had 2001 dianese armour in my hands (aren't they light and tiny!)
they may be light, they may be small, but they stiil seem to stop most leg damage. what does the colour matter anyway, they'll be under trousers most of the time.
