I am looking round for a more freeride bike frame (currently have a Coyote DS and a Kona Muni Mula) and want something full sus that can be used for XC (not as fast as the Kona) and jumping about (but not maybe not as high as the Coyote)

Any ideas, I have a budget limit of about 600 for the frame ............. any ideas

was thinking about getting a Club Roost DH8 Frame but I don't think it will pedal that well :-)

Chris

Thanks in advance
well i ride mostly dh and freeride and i have a marin b17 at the moment and to be honest i think i could ride better on a hard tail. so im looking at buying an on one gimp or a jack flash rad for these duties

I was riding FS about 2 years ago and swapped over to hard tails, which is why I have two .. I have found them to be a little to specific unlike a FS so I am looking to get another FS that can do both, this will be an additional rather than a replacement

How about the new specialized big hit FSR frame?

Very good value for a quality 8.1" frame that has a good shock (Fox Vanilla RC) on it, at around £600!

Leisure lakes have it in their catalogue, but I can't find a URL better than www.leisure-lakes.co.uk to help cos their site isn't working right now!

Oh, and i know that's a bit overkill, but it's good value anyway...

Specialized also do an 2002 Enduro frame with monocoque front chassis, 4 bar linkage suspension system, Fox Float air shock with lock out, 5" rear travel - also £600

Really? i haven't seen that as a frame only option yet. But the float rear shock is cool, it has a second lever that allow instant travel adjustment!

The Enduro frame is one that I have been looking at, it looks like you can drop the seatpost ... and it's beefy enough, though I'm not sure about the air shock

Orange Patriot - if you can find an extra few spondoolies.

I'll sell you an Orange Mr O, if you want it. You can set the travel anywhere between 4 and 8 inches, and it climbs quite well. Pretty much like a Patriot/Sub5, when you set the travel short.

It'd just about fit your budget as well...

Pimps right. Patriots rule. Try 2nd hand?

Just bought a spesh enduro frame myself... am buliding it up over the next few weeks. Will let ya' know how it goes if you like. Was riding a '97 marin mount vision before, and fancied something a bit different. Really like the chunky yet sleek looks of it. Don't feel that heavy on the finger scales either...

All things are relative.

No not my thing at all I'm afraid. Still, I couldn't stetch to an Apollo at the moment, so I can't really slag your choice of bike

I meant stretch

Dave (Carlson)

Just out of interest, how much do you want for your Mr 0 ?
Show/hide user stats
I was asking £600 for it here. If you're interested, drop me an email, and I'll try to dig out a photo of it.
