My Scary Fast 'SuperB's are finally coming to the end of their eventful life. After 6 years use, my fingers are starting to poke out of the ends and they're generally falling to pieces.
I had considered getting new ones but hadn't seen them in the shops for ages but all of a sudden, all of the mags seem to be reviewing them but apart from a distributor number there's been no mention of shops that sell them. Anyone spotted any 'in the flesh', preferably in the SW London area?
Thanks for that Charlie but although I quite like the Troy Lee ones, I don't see why I need to pay £30 for gloves that aren't any better than the Scary Fast ones. And I don't really rate the Fox ones - they don't seem to fit right.
As for "Nothing else works", I'd call 6 years worth of crashing and not falling apart till now, working.
Tony, I'm not really much of a 'use things 'till they wear out' type - the piles of 'old' bike bits in my cupboards that are still fine to use bear that out... It's just that the Scary Fast glove have been way better than anything else I've seen...
Seriously though, six years from one pair of gloves, that's a serious recommendation. I can usually bet on only one year, it just goes to show that the dearest aint always the best.
I'll check this glove out as I consider such an item to be an important part of my kit. Any old shirt will do, but gloves, well, they have to fit.
Tony, when I got them, they were actually around £30 so the new distributor seems to have dropped the prices substantially (down to around £16 now!) - deflation... nice :)
I emailed the distibuters on Friday asking if I could pick the gloves up direct from them as I needed them for the weekend and they're not far from one of the stops on my journey home. The guy there offered to bring them to the train station in various sizes and models so that I could try them. And on top of that service, he knocked a quid off the price since he wouldn't have to post them... :) I went for the GTO in the end - lightweight without being too fragile.
I used them for two reasonable length rides this weekend and they seem really good :)
