I'd just like to point out that I didn't really think that URT is a form of milk.

I thought URT was what you get when you fall off!! seriously though i am thinking of getting a Dawes as my first full susser, have a Spec, R/hopper at the moment, like the Spec. Enduro, but i think the Dawes is a much more sensible price for a first time F/S, any veiws? Rob.

What about 01 Specialized Enduro Sport £699 at Evans cycles ? They only have large so you'd have to be the right size... I bought one a few months back and apart from changes the brakes (pro-max shite !) everything else is fine.

You'll be lucky to get your hands on a 02 enduro frame cos they sold like hot cakes. The 03 model enduro is supposedly going to cost about £900 for the frame alone - specialised have realised what a bargain the 02 enduro frmae was.

I've heard good things about the Dawes - not a pimpy bike but supposed to ride well, a good bargain.

About the Giant XTC frame: I rid pretty ard ona hardtail, would the Giant be a sensible upgrade? I'm looking for something fullsus, not too active - hated the enduro ride, liked the Trek Fuel but not enough travel. Giant XTC has 3.75"?

Ally, try a GF Sugar

Teh Dawes - judging by the reviews and looking at the design - is an excellent buy. In a way the better buy is the cheaper one - cheaper than any decent full susser frame and a very good XC frame. Then upgrade the parts. the frames are common between the two bikes and is very good - based on reviews.

Ally - the NRS should be ideal. You can stand up and get no bob at all, but sit and the suss takes the sting out. Also very tuneable - if you want more or less plushness air pressures can be tweeked suitably.
