I've got three named bikes on my home insurance (most expensive 2.4K), new for old, covered for in the garage, on the roof rack and even six weeks overseas travel a year. I'm buggered if I can remember who our insrurance company is though, I'll check the papers when I get home and let you know (I think the policy costs something like 250-300 quid a year)
House insurance is definatly the best way. They have the best ( read most sensible ) Terms and conditions and often you can get all your bikes plus the contents covered for about the same premium as a specialist firm would charge just for the bikes.
Prudential is the current BM favourite but by no means the only one.
