Guys,

I took my new Enduro to Coed last weekend and she more or less behaved herself apart from two little problems.

Firstly, under pressure the chainset/bb have developed an irritating click. I cant for the life of me work out why or where it is coming from.

The other problem is that in lower gears the front jumps from middle to bottom without even askinig my permision !!

Anyone else had these problems - if so - how did you sort them ?

Thanks guys.

M

the click could be dirt in the bb threads - the only way to get rid of it is to take out the bb and clean/regrease, although I have heard teflon tape works well too - although if its a new bike and you havent been riding in the mud then it shouldnt be that - have you checked your chainring bolts are tight?

Mark, have a close look at the bit of outer cable that runs underneath the bottom bracket. There has been a thread on this in the maintainence forum for a while now. Quite a few people have mentioned that theirs were too short and therefore the gears shift as the suspension compresses. If you remove air from the shock and push the back end down you should be able to test this. A really good upgrade is a decent cable set while you're at it. Recommend the Gore ones. As for the click mine was the cable but loose BB , pedals or crank should be checked. The list is endless.
Spesh UK are good if you still have problems.
I thought my E exp was really good for C-Y-B. Tony..

Mark,
I had a similar problem with mine, it went back to the shop three times before it was sorted. Firstly the BB was loose, then it was the actual cranks which were eventually replaced under warranty for shimano items - problem solved. I think specialized must recognise that there is a problem with the cranks if they were willing to do this... Brilliant bike for Coed but I think there was something wrong with mine - it was extremely reluctant to go uphill and it threw me off when the going got tough...

I've just built up a bike around the enduro frame and I am also having problems with "ghost" gear shifts. Thanks for the advice in this forum, I'll hopefully be able to get it sorted.

Also its a monocoque frame, so any noises will be magnified anyway...

Ive got a similar/older speash frame, with loads of noises, but at the moment, im ignoring it till its worse.
