I have a wide foot and a highish instep but I find the Lakes a great fit - I use a size 44 when my normal shoe size is 43.
They have vibram soles, mudstuds, and use laces and velcro straps with a double tongue. The toebox is flexible but the main sole is rigid.
I did try a pair on before buying online however and would definately recommend you do that if possible.
The Lakes also have mesh panels but I use overshoes when I anticipate wet conditions - there are of course the other times!!
