Do Sram still make front mechs and associated shifters? Can't see them on their website, but then I may just be being blind again.
I guess if they have gone out of production, the only alternative is Shimano RF?

reading through old forum threads it seems Sram discountinued front mechs to concentrate on rear mechs and go 'pimpy'/profitable with X.0. Am I right?

Shifters - yes
Mechs - no, you can use shimano on the front.
They sold the factory that made the hubs and mechs a couple of years ago.
