Anybody have problems getting the awfull plastic taste out of a new omega bladder. I have tried everything I can think of and the thing still makes me want to heave.

Tryed Bicarbonate of soda and water?

What about steredent or babys steralising tablets?

I usually go with a very strong tasting juice, like lemon and/or lime etc.

I tried the sterilizing tablets. Giving it a good overnight soak. Even took it all apart.

I've tried lemon juice and orange as well. This does not cover up the taste much at all.

Thanks for the suggestions. Any others? HELP

LSD?
The taste will be the last thing on your mind
If your mates think the water tastes off as well then send an e-mail to camelbak and see what they say.
I had the same problem - first time i used the new CB was the salisbury plane challenge this year - drink tasted so foul i didn't take enough and got dehydrated. So much for my new hydration pack.

Got better over the following few uses, by about 4th ride it was fine - just gave it a good wash with fairy liquid.

You'll just have to grin and bear it, but it is like sucking a new innertube to start

Well I've scrubbed the devil out of it and put strong orange concentrate in it. Seems a bit better. Still strong in the bit that warms up in the drinking tube. Hope this helps someone else.

Two words baking soda!
Mix baking soda and water let sit overnight that's it.

It works great.

Dissolve a Milton tablet in it overnight. Problem solved.

Time seems to be the best thing for it all. The taste comes from the tube not the bladder as far as I can tell.

I've taken to using denture tablets to give it a wash after rinsing for 15-20 minutes under running water. I've not had any problems with growth, even without putting it in the fridge or freezer.

Was going to say exactly what you just said Bill. I also use denture tablets and hot water leave for an hour or so, then wash out with water then place in freezer until I use it next time - no worries about anything growing in it, and taste is pretty neutral. The only problem is that it is a bit stained from using special drinks!!
