Has any tried the shadow bike alarm from www.evnatech.com (website is a bit broken)? I saw one in my LBS. It's a little alarm about the size and shape of a tube of smarties. You remove the grip from the handlebar, push this in and replace the grip.
The alarm is armed/disarmed by inserting a jack into the hole in the end of the grip.
It looks very clever but I was wondering if it's very effective?
it looks like it has a lip on it which acts like a bar end cap so it shouldnt push right in. also looks like this helps when it comes to taking it out to replace the batteries.
my only concern is mud and grit getting into the key hole and rust setting in.
and the fact that you need to remove the opposite bar bung to let the noise out Ok on a bike for in town but for a off road bike i dont want a core sample of my inners if i fall off
