I see Stan's No Tubes system got a good write up recently in MBR. Anyone here tried it? Thinking about trying it with my normal Conti Explorers or does it really need to be used with tubless?
Take a look at www.mtbbritain.co.uk for another review and instructions on how to do it. Sounds like a lot of work, but you don't have to use tubeless, so it's not only cheaper but lighter, too. Must be worth a go....
Pretty crap when you cut the tyre and it looks like it's had a personal moment on the trail and you have to go back to tubes to get home.I know of a person who persevered for a while and now has lovely tubes back in.
well if you a tubed tyre you have the same problem anyway don't you! I thinkit's silly to say that tubes are better because one day i may cut my tyre, when tubeless has obvious advantages much of the time. I ride tubeless and do carry a tube just incase, however in 2 yrs of riding tubeless I have only needed the tube once. No sense in going back to tubes permanently is there.
Stan's Notubes can be bought at Cyclesurgery and they've reduced the price so I might give it a try. I've also just discovered an alternative called Eclipse that can be bought here http://www.justridingalong.com/shopping/index.php
