A radial spoked wheel is one where the spokes go from the hub straight out to the nearest hole in the rim. Shorter spokes = lighter wheel.
I wouldn't be keen to use it on a MTB due to torque & other forces that are applied to the wheel when being used. The only time that I could see it being adequate would be on a non-disc front.
