About to buy a bike from Merlin (Maxlight frame, MX Comp ETA forks, Deore group, V-Brakes approx £550-600) but am wondering whether it is worth waiting a month or two to get a 2004 fork.

Apparently the adjustment is being altered slightly on the fork - but that is about it. Is it worth hanging on or should I go with the 2003 model and enjoy 2 months of better riding?

This is my first 'proper' mtb (currently got an old rigid steel rockhopper) so don't want to waste the cash.

Also, have I missed anything in selecting this choice of frame and bits? Appreciate it isn't top end but seems better than the likes of a Spesh rockhopper or a Orange etc etc.
