just read this months mbr ,after reading the test of the specialised enduro sx i wondered if it was possible to build a sub 30 lb all day bike from this frameset, have any of you enlightened folk out there any opinions ????

What's the point - you might as well use a standard Endruo frame if it's an 'all day trail bike' you want.
Check out the Craftworks FRM125 in mbuk a couple of months ago or go to www.keewee.co.nz their new freeride frame looks awesome too.
point is its 200 quid cheaper plus its smaller , and that matters when your only 5ft 3
The SX is designed as a BSX bike, If you're on a budget for a trail bike, get a Club Roost XC4
Second thoughts, it only comes in 18in. It might be too big for you
 18in hmmm back to plan A , i need a 14 in frame any ideas ????

I dont see why it couldn't work as long as there's a mount for a front mech.
sorry, meant routing for a front mech, I think there is, but I cant be sure.
Remember also that it has different geometry to a normal Enduro.
head angle is only 0.5 to 1.5 degrees steeper than a standard enduro so steering will be a bit quicker but you can offset that with a longer stem, i thought about this frame myself but bought a standard enduro and its ace terry

The bike in MBR didnt seem overly built at all for a trail bike. You could get it lighter but it would be crazy money. Wheels are probably the first thing to swap.
Personally I'd just build it up with good quality kit like in the review and bugger the weight. Its how it rides.

I've got a 15" s-works FSR going begging if you're interested.
My new SX should arrive tomorrow - I'll let you know!!

Brilliant bikes. Any Enduro is. Should build up nice. If any body wants rid of one....
tHE FRAME only is 8.5lbs... considering it myself as it probably quite suits me but thinking more and more it's just too overbuilt for an all-day bike. Would still like one mind...

are you reviving a slightly dead thread there?
