cant get that address to work. any chance you could email me a pic: konadudeuk@hotmail.com if not, dont worry, im just interested to see how that setup works. ta
i ended up going for a rohloff tensioner, more for the hub gear bike i have in mind but for singlespeed use for the time being. it'a very nice little device:
no worries about durability, i know people who've ridden round the world with these things. it'll be interesting to see whether it will allow me to run the large chainring on the middleburn duo chainset as well, a pullup option so i'm not spinning like a loon on long flat sections.
chuckle - looks like it, i know, but not really - a fraction of the size + weight, with no lateral movement (you fix the chainline with shims between the bolt + hanger).
too expensive....speak to the nice man at kinetics. probably overkill for purely singlespeed use, but spot on for the hub gear bike i'm planning on assembling.
I bought a DMR tensionseeker, and was quite scared it would be shite, based on the negative reviews on BM and CRC.
I found that it was pretty easy to get the thing set up with the right tension, although I was concerned that it doesn't use the same tab sort of thing a normal rear mech uses, rather than just tightness of the mounting screw to pull the chain against (this wouldn't work to tension 'up' the chain I guess).
So far it's done a 100 miles in nasty weather and seems to be holding up OK. To be totally honest the only reason I bought the tension seeker was pimp appeal as the cut down old rear mech worked perfectly as a chain tensioner for months.
