I was just wondering what people take with them out on the trail and what are the pro's and con's of each.

Blackburn mini, T bar on the end gives good grip when your hands are cold and your f..d.

mini pump, I used to carry C02 canisters but the first time I tried using them the gas escaped so bloody fast my tube didn't inflate properly. They're fiddly to seal onto the valve fully and if the gas escapes you're left with a flat and no pump.

CO2 is great but if you're only taking one or the other then it has to be the pump.

Both.
Mini-pump for the usual everyday puncture repairs, CO2 for the "It's getting dark and I've no lights" and "It's midnight, we've had five punctures on this night ride, I'm fekin freezin, can we go home now" moments.

I don't like the cost and the waste of a CO2 cannister, but they are useful sometimes.
