To be honest I don't care. Wah wah MTB faShion police warning. If it helps with climbing and stops me getting numb hands it cannot be a bad thing. It replaces the hands on lever hoods from roadie days

look bar ends with riser bars are morally wrong, the government should set up some sort of register for people with them the same way they do with sex offenders. and by the way ea70s get my vote

they're pink FFS!

Just rest the ball of your hand on the ends of the handlebars for a change in position. Works for me.

each to their own . I like bar ends lots of xc racers use them (admittedly on flats ) but I dont like riding without them

Alun,
as a part time roadie, used to at least four hand positions, I agree, bar ends are superb, on flat bars.

I`ve just never seen anyone with them on risers.
But you are right, each to his own.

well I have 2 MTB, a hardtail with risers and bar ends, a full sus with flats and bar ends (and a roadbike wich is great for 70-80mils with multiple hand positions) and I have to admit I am looking for some risers to replace the flats and will be using bar ends. At the grand old age of 34 I care not what other people think I look like as long as I am enjoying myself and feel comfortable on the bike(s)!

I went to the LBS and was going to buy an EA50 at £50. My mate at the LBS told me to get the EA30 instead. £20 less and only 15gram difference.

EA30's get my vote.

Just put some EA30 2" rise bars on my Liquid 30, without bar ends for the moment.
I must admit I have bar ends on my old Club Roost risers as I find climbing out of the saddle without bar ends feels very unstable.

I have to admit it folks, but both my bikes have risers with bar-ends and it works for me. (function over fashion!)
Basically each to their own plus I don't give a shit what MBR say as I have a mind of my own.

Please don't point/laugh/shoot me if you see me out riding though !

:-)

Get yourself some anodised gold Azonic World Force risers, they're fantastically pimpy, reletively strong, and at £21 from our friends at chainreaction, check them out
