Did some searching for bike storage as I'll have a similar need to store 3 bikes outside. The locker advertised on cycle-works seems to be the same as the one advertised on Trimetal's website. The trimetals one is cheaper and comes with a floor, although the floor might get in the way of the inevitable huge ground anchor I'll fit to ensure that even if the locker is opened the bikes are not moving.
Also for ground anchors you can find a big selection of ground anchors on the M and P website starting from 10 quid. I have the 10 quid one installed in a garage at the moment and it's pretty good althouhg you do need a really meaty masonary drill just to install it.
I'm hoping the combination of padlocks on a locker plus a good chain and ground anchor will be just as secure as a garage or house. Unless somebody knows what is in the locker hopefully would be thieves are not going to go through some considerable effort just to get to the bikes and then they still have to deal with the chains and ground anchor.
Thanks Dylan, The Bike Bunker that Cycle works and Timetals sell was the kind of thing I was looking at. If used with a floor anchor then I would have thought they are pretty secure.
Spiderman, my insurance is very good and covers the bikes even if they are just chained to a railing and the Maverick is insured as a seperate item so will be covered for this kind of storage if I still need to use it. By the way, Barclays home contents insurance is very comprehensive and cheap for bikes.
trimetals are just up the road from where i live, and there kits v.good, and my mate works for them, im going to see if i can get a deal on one. wink wink nudge nudge, as my bike needs a new home due to family expansion.
I have one of these trimetals bike sheds, to keep 3 bikes. it is a tight fit getting all 3 bikes in, but they do fit!
Putting the shed together is a two man job, but a word of warning, the ground it sits on needs to be flat as the shed twists and doesn't close properly. I've built a concrete platform which I placed ground anchor bolts into to make sure the whole shed is level and can't be lifted up. With a ground anchor in thier as well I think the bikes are fairly secure.
