Unfortunately Asthma is getting the better of me on my commute now we have got back into summer again. I've had to take a couple of days off the saddle to let my lungs recover. Thinking of getting one of those Respro Techno Anti-pollution mask's (Charlie you used to work for them didn't you?). But I wonder should I go for med or large (I know, I know how long is a piece of string - but I have an average sized male head!).
They are all packaged up in the shop so I can't exactly try one on! Also any tips on these things would be most appreciated (eg are they really hard to breath with?)
Use a large every day and would say a medium would be tight for me and I think I'm average male. They can feel constricting especially if your riding at pace but I really notice the pollution when I'm not using it. If you wear glasses then they can cause misting up at traffic lights though.
Thanks for that info Mark. Think I'll go for a large then. I do wear glasses so that might be interesting. Are they fiarly easily to slip out of (eg when I'm cycling through Richmond park I probably wouldn't want to breathe through it) or do you have to take them off completely if you don't want to breathe through it?
I tend to just pull the front of the mask down under my chin when I don't want to use it in the middle of the ride, also sometimes ast traffic lights to stop too much misting.
Thanks for the info Mark - I think I will def. get one now.
Cheers Charlie, will talk to you about this tonight most probably - I don't always want to ask you about stuff as I feel you would soon get bored of my questioning!
