Hey all, Am looking to do the upgrade from shit plastic pedals to a clipless pedal shoe combo. Was especially looking at the Candy Brothers Mallet C as I would quite like the insurance of the platform! Has anyone had any experience of these pedals? I also have size 12-13 (UK) feet depending on the shoe make and am struggling to find clipless shoes of this size - anyone else had this problem and have any suggesstions/reccomendations? Any help as ever is appreciated!
Call Keswick Mountain Bikes on 017687 74221 and ask them if they still have a set of size 13 Cannondale shoes in stock. They ordered them in for me a couple of months ago, but they proved slightly too small in the big toe for my giant plates. They may be at one of the other shops in town if they're not at the main place - assuming the bike burglars didn't make off with them last week....
I ended up tracking down what I assume was the only set of size 50 shoes in the country (they feel more like a 49 to me), but that shop isn't offering any more on their website (just checked).
shimano do shoes in a uk 12 as there what i use i think sidi do them as well but my lbs have just stopped stocking them, when i went in for a pair of dominators. i use time atac z pedals
There may be light at the end of the tunnel, sidi do shoes up to a size 53! shimano, nike and time all go up to a 48,if you've got a good lbs they should order them in for you or like my lbs they actuallly keep size 12's in all the time although not always in the style i want but they will order.
I'm a really broad 12/13 depending on the make. I have a paer of size 48 gaerne tri shoes, size 48 shimano casual shoes for the commute and a pair of 49 diadoras as my main mtb shoe. The gaerne are a bit tight on the toe, but I wear them without socks and for comaratiely short periods of time so that's ok. I find the diadoras are really good as I think they are wider than the Sidis I tried, so can get sealskinz underneath.
Find a good shop, or buy from a decent mailorder place so that you can post them back if they don't fit.
