It appears that you can pick certain Kryptonite locks (the ones with a round lock barrel) using a biro...
*If* true, it's a bit scary...

Reading all of that Kryptonite apear to say that the newyork locks are not afected by this but in one of the films it looks very much like the guy is doing it to a new york chain. Is it all of the "round lock barrel" locks that are afected or are Kryptonite saying that it has been fixed on the newyorkers?

locks are easy to bust break force etc
lost a key to a lock once, so was left with the thought of having to saw through it..started sawing throught the chain. blades blunted after about a minute, got a new blade, started again. got bored..
so i decided it was taking too long. picked up a club hammer, and belted the padlock and it pinged open.
i now know that all padlocks are shite and can be broken, forced, busted etc

has anyone phoned madison?

I've been trying them all day and all I've got is an answer phone.

Left name and number and they didn't call back.

Can get them on 0845 603 4612 and 0800 018 3790 or Fax 0800 018 3058 and 020 8385 3443

I'm abit annoyed with the upgrade they have proposed for the ev disc lock. They want to give us a molly lock which retails at £5 less - not an upgrade!!

Copied from bikeforum.net for info!

"ok here's the deal..

If you don't want the molly lock you can wait three weeks for the new EV Disc locks to come in. I opted to upgrade to the fahgettaboudit lock for $18 even (no shipping).

$18 is better than the $35 difference between the 3'3" NY Chain & EV Disc and the 3'3" NY Chain & Fahgettaboudit.

Since mine is 2 weeks old, I basically got to pay $90 (including shipping) for the NY Fahgettaboudit lock and chain, and I have an ev disc lock to boot. It can still work as a deterrant, as I am in a rural area and I seriously doubt that the crooks around here have access to this information. Good enough to lock up the scooter cover at least."

Or just use a shoelace, which is both cheaper and as effective.
