Shimano Revoshift vs SRAM Gripshift
SRAM gripshifters are harder to turn?

I am upgrading from 8 to 9 speed and therefore must replace my Shimano Revoshift twist shifters (which are not available in 9 speed). The SRAM Rocket Shorty 9 speed gripshifters I have bought need considerably more force to turn than the Revoshift (possibly due to shorter movement per gear, they are spaced closer together = higher gearing in the gripshift itself).

Does anybody know of a SRAM or other gripshifter with a light action?

Are the SRAM ESP (1:1) gripshifters lighter (to turn) than the Shimano compatible types?

Thanks!

If they were too easy to turn then you would accidentally change gear every time you hit a bump. I use 8 speed with X7 rear mech and the effort to twist them is not exactly tireing and I have ridden a couple of 100K races this year and my wrists were the very least of my worries. I presume you are using new cables with your set up as this could cause stiffness .
